Jasmine Pearls
White jasmine tea with a charming floral aroma.
This is Shou Mei white tea scented with jasmine flowers. Shou Mei is made from a leaf bud along with the first two or three leaves. The leaves are hand rolled into elegant pearl shapes.
The tea gains its delightful aroma from real jasmine flowers, which are removed after the scenting process.
It’s worth noting that the flowers used to scent jasmine tea are not the same as those of the mock orange shrub (Philadelphus, from the Hydrangeaceae family), which is commonly called “jasmine” in Latvia. Jasmine tea is scented with Jasminum sambac, a member of the olive family (Oleaceae).

Brewing suggestions:
For a delicious cup, you’ll only need a few pearls. There are about four pearls per gram of tea. It’s recommended to use no more than one gram of tea per 100 ml of water, allowing it to steep for up to three minutes. The same leaves can be re-steeped at least once.
