Long Jing 2026
A classic Chinese green tea with distinctive roasted chestnut and nutty notes, balanced by subtle floral nuances.
Long Jing, also known as Dragon Well, is one of China’s oldest and most celebrated green teas, with a history dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Its name originates from the legendary Dragon Well spring in Longjing Village, where the first tea gardens were established more than a thousand years ago. Over the centuries, Long Jing became one of China’s most iconic teas, renowned for its delicate clarity, smooth character, and gently roasted chestnut notes.
In the broader sense, authentic Long Jing refers to tea grown in Zhejiang Province, while in the strictest sense the name applies only to tea from the historic gardens surrounding West Lake — the famous lake region regarded as the birthplace of classical Long Jing tea. Since the 1990s, demand for Long Jing has risen sharply, and due to the limited cultivation area, teas grown in other regions of China and processed in the Long Jing style are often marketed under the same name.
This Long Jing comes from tea gardens in the Tianmu Mountain region of Lin’an, Zhejiang Province. While it is not from the classical West Lake Long Jing origin area, the Tianmushan region is highly regarded for its pristine growing conditions and exceptional organic tea cultivation traditions.
